Serena Williams: Validation through Dilution

Serena.....JPG

There has been much fanfare about the new August cover  of Vanity Fair.  It features tennis great Serena Williams.  The black woman’s body is a beautiful sight to behold.  And a pregnant woman is a glorious representation of new life.  So when I saw the pregnant Williams I first thought it was beautiful.  Then I had to remind myself that she was carrying a white man’s seed.  But Williams is not alone in doing this.  It seems many black athletes, singers, politicians and actors love to dilute their black genetics.  Here’s a short list of black and (some biracial) people who over the years have continued to whiten their bloodline…

Ira Aldridge, Maya Angelou, Kofi Annan, Pearl Bailey, Amiri Baraka, Charles Barkley, Harry Belafonte, Julian Bond, Ed Bradley, Carol Mosely Braun, Lonnie Bristow, Avery Brooks, Georg Sanford Brown, Clarence Williams III, Johnetta Cole, Ward Connerly, Sammy Davis Jr., Father Divine, Frederick Douglass, Marian Wright Edelman, Olaudah Equiano (aka Gustavus Vasa), Franz Fanon, Roberta Flack, Henry Louis Gates, Clarence Gilyard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Berry Gordy, Dorien Harewood, Ken Hamblin, Calvin Hernton, Chester Himes, Gregory Hines, Michael Jackson, LaToya Jackson, Reggie Jackson, C.L.R. James, Rick James, Jack Johnson, James Earl Jones, Quincy Jones, Vernon Jordan, Monica Kaufman, Eartha Kitt, Earl Klugh, Ramsey Lewis, Wynton Marsalis, Ali Mazrui, James McDaniel, Bobby McFerrin, Barbara McNair, Edwin Moses, George Padmore, Clarence Page, Floyd Patterson, Scottie Pippen, Sidney Portier, Richard Pryor, Seal, Lou Rawls, Alphonso Ribiera, Dennis Rodman, J.A. Why are we so desperate for white acceptance? Do we not value our African phenotype?  Why do we want to dilute our black genetics?  We are a beautiful people.  We are beautiful with our full lips, dark skin and African textured hair.  We don’t have to be mixed to be considered attractive.  We are taught to hate our own reflection. Over hundreds of years of imperial indoctrination, slavery and colonization we have lost knowledge of self.  They gave us  European mythology full of false white gods and black demons. This is evident by the fact that our most intelligent, successful and athletic even want to reproduce with their oppressor.   Many of these athletes and entertainers don’t see the beauty in themselves.  They can only see beauty in their biracial offspring.  Something that looks less black.  Something less hue-man. They feel by accepting the white penis or  white vagina will exclude them from black pain.  They think by kissing white lips they wont be spat upon by white racism.  But this is delusional. This shows how deep rooted the self hatred can be. Africans are the oldest people on the planet.  The black man is the Original man.  The black woman is the Original woman and the standard of beauty.  All these other races are subspecies. European culture is anti-African by it’s very definition.  But the reality is we don’t need their acceptance or consent for anything.  All we have to do is accept and love ourselves. And once we do that we’ll be taking the first steps in reclaiming power and control over our own destinies.

The Interracial Madness-Sexuality in TV and Film(Part 2 of 3)

Film historian Charles Woods talks in this video about interracial sex/love in Hollywood films. Woods says in Hollywood there is always a “3D Effect” when interracial relationships are involved.  The three D’s are denigration, devastation, and destruction. Woods is exactly right.  This is something they do in Hollywood films a lot.  Another common theme is the black men and women are always separated from each other. They do this by not casting another black person of the opposite sex.

The Hays Code.jpg

Back in 1930 the Motion Picture Code was created. It was called The Hays Code. The picture(above) is some of the guidelines. Of course you can see that number four is no miscegenation(race mixing). Naturally times have changed so it’s been revised.  The powers that be realize that promoting interracial sex can be used against black people.  So of course the list seems very outdated at the present time.  Here’s the complete list:

http://www.artsreformation.com/a001/hays-code.html

Scandal

Of course we are all familiar with the show Scandal. Scandal has beautiful actress Kerry Washington caught in a white boy-love triangle. And even when an episode had her former black boyfriend show up…conveniently they could not see eye to eye.  What’s amazing is that the show is written by Shonda Rhimes…a black woman no less.  But of course Shonda has to be down with the interracial propaganda if she wants to continue working in Hollywood.

Pilot

On the hit show Supergirl, actor Mehcad Brooks is caught in a white girl-love triangle.  Supergirl is played by actress Melissa Benoist. Brooks plays James Olsen who has a girlfriend  played by Jenna Tatum. But he has feelings for Supergirl also. Where are the black actresses on the show?  There are….ZERO! No surprise right?  This way the white girls have no competition with black women.

Candice

In keeping with the superhero theme, there is also the show The Flash.  Where we find actress Candice Patton. She’s biracial but never mind that at the moment.  She plays a character who has a white boyfiend. But she is feeling conflicted because she’s starting to have feelings for another man.  YEP! You guessed it..another white guy.  Who writes this stuff??

Jungle Fever

One of the first films I remember that caused a lot of controversy was Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever(1991).  It starred Wesley Snipes who cheated on his biracial wife with a white woman.  Average looking actress Annabella Sciorra  played the mistress. It was a big deal I guess at the time because the story ine centered on race a lot. But nowadays the racial issue is hardly brought up. I guess this is an attempt to normalize interracial relationships by ignoring race altogether.

A Bronx Tale

The film A Bronx Tale(1993) had an interracial relationship starring Taral Hicks. Her character falls in love with an Italian boy played by Lillo Brancato. There were a lot of these type of these films in the nineties.

Corrina

The film Corrina,Corrina(1994) starred Whoopi Goldberg who falls for actor Ray Liotta. This was just one of many films where Whoopi is paired with a white man. If you include this film,Jungle Fever,A Bronx Tale and The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston…the nineties had a lot of interracial films.  I think the nineties was the decade they really started pushing much of the interracial propaganda.

The film Save the Last Dance(2001) starred actor Sean Patrick  Thomas and actress Julia Stiles. It was about an out of town white teenage girl coping with the death of her mother. She and her father move to Chicago and she falls in love with a black teenager(Thomas). The film was a huge hit back in 2001. It grossed over $130 million.  I think that’s one of the reasons we saw such an increase of these type of relationships in films.

In the drama film O(2001)  Julia Stiles stars again in an interracial relationship.  This time with actor Mekhi Phifer.  The film is a loose modern adaption of William Shakespeare’s Othello.  This film also perpetuates a lot of negative stereotypes.  In the clip(above)  Phifer’s character has sex with her then when she says stop…he continues anyway.  So basically he rapes her.  Then if that wasn’t enough he chokes her to death afterwards.  So we have a black man that is a rapist and murderder.   That’s racist Hollywood for you.

Trey Songz

They even have interracial couples in horror films. In the film Texas Chainsaw 3D(2103),singer /actor Trey Songz was in a sex scene with actress Tania Raymonde. Trey is a horrible actor and should stick to singing.  The film was a total waste of a hour and thirty minutes. I guess the message of the film was just because a crazy lunatic with a chainsaw is killing people…doesn’t mean you can’t find the time to get your “swirl on”.

Blair .jpg

Actor Blair Underwood played the boyfriend of actress Julia Louis-Dreyfuss on the sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine(2006-2010).  I remember meeting Underwood over fifteen years ago at a black rodeo in Burbank,Ca.  Underwood  was a real cool brother.  I remember there a lot of black women around him trying to get his attention. I know many black women see him as a sex symbol.  I’m sure many of them are not too fond of seeing him in these roles with non black women.

Taye Diggs

On the drama Private Practice(2007-2013) Taye Diggs was a relationship with actress Kate Walsh.  I guess Taye is the go to interracial black guy in Hollywood.  Kind of like how Zoe Saldana is always linked with white guys in films.  But it kind of makes sense when you think about it.  Since Taye likes pale-skinned flat assed white girls in real life,it only makes sense that he always gets the phone call for these roles.  And Zoe is married to a white guy in real life too. See the pattern?

Joy Bryant

On the television show Parenthood(2010-2015)actress Joy Bryant played the wife to actor Dax Shepard.  Isn’t this a perfect picture?  This is what they want for black people.  This is another way to promote the false belief that race mixing will end racism.  That mixed babies will heal all the wounds. That somehow just having sex with whites will wash away hundreds of years of slavery, rape, lynchings and genocide. I covered this once before.

Part 3 is next!  The conclusion!

Whitewashing of the Black Woman’s Image

fSPerfect Match..

The film The Perfect Match comes out today. I saw the  trailer for this  so-called “black romantic comedy” last week. It stars Terrence J,Cassie Ventura,Lauren London,Paula Patton,Dascha Polanco and Donald Faison. It looks like your typical romantic comedy Hollywood usually gives us.  The acting is not very good and we’ve seen this storyline countless times before. But that’s not my problem with the film.

What’s very disturbing is this film is being pushed in the urban(black)markets.  It’s been all over BET,TV One and many black radio stations.  I found this disturbing because all the main women in the film are biracial women.  All the women that are supposed to be desirable are mixed/biracial women.  The main love interest is played by actress/singer Cassie Ventura.  She’s most known for being  music producer Sean Combs on again/off again girlfriend. She’s not that great of a singer to begin with so I guess she wants to take a chance at acting.  Apparently  she’s not that great of an actress either. But Cassie is not even a black woman.  Her father is Filipino. And her mother is Black and Mexican.  Then there’s actress Lauren London.  Who is most know from the film ATL(2006). She also is know for having a baby with wannabe gangster rapper Lil Wayne.  Does that make her baby mama number 5 or 6?  Who knows?  Any Lauren’s father is a Jewish man and her mother is black. And actress Dascho Polanco is a mixed race Dominican woman.  This is the same old promotion of the “exotic mixed race” woman.  Once again we see the elimination of the dark-skinned African looking woman.  They do this over and over again. How can you have a “black film” with no women that LOOK black?  This is another slap in the face to black women!  And another example of whitewashing the black woman’s image. I’ve covered this topic before a few months ago.

https://kushiteprince.wordpress.com/2016/01/23/biracial-women-are-the-most-beautifuland-other-myths/

And this issue of pushing biracial woman as a better alternative to black woman is disgusting.  It’s an insult to all the beautiful dark skinned sistas out there. But this promotion of biracial/whitewashing of black women has been on an upswing the last few years.

Nina Simone1..

But nothing is more insulting than the upcoming Nina Simone biopic.  The director of the film cast Zoe Saldana as Nina.  This was an insult right from the start. Zoe Saldana has a Dominican father and Puerto rican mother.  Her biography says she also has Hatian and Lebanese roots.  But Nina Simone was unapologetically black.  She was a dark skinned woman with full lips and African textured hair.  All her life Nina was called ugly and unattractive because she looked African.  Saldana can’t relate to that.  She may be of African descent but her life is not a reflection of what Nina endured. The way Nina was treated was part of her music. It was the embodiment of who she was as a black woman. Also the family of Simone has denounced the film and were not involved. If Saldana had any integrity she would’ve turned this film down.  The put dark makeup on her and gave her a fake nose.  What the hell??I know she wanted a paycheck but this role is horrible for her.  She is not right for this role.  Why not just hire a dark skinned actress who can also sing?  Why not Lauryn Hill or India Arie?  Either one of them  would’ve  been better choices in my opinion. And I’m sure Simone would not approve of this.  This is nothing but a modern day blackface minstrel!

This is an interesting video.  It’s a few black actresses in Hollywood giving their opinion on Zoe Saldana playing Nina Simone.  Most of them gave politically correct answers.  You can tell that they were very uncomfortable not wanting to admit that a more black looking woman should’ve gotten the role.  Although actress Sheryl Lee Ralph was probably the most honest.

Coretta Scott King..

This casting of biracial/mixed has been going on for quite awhile.  Biracial actress Carmen Ejogo was cast as Coretta Scott King twice. Once in the film Boycott(2001) and the film Selma(2014).

Harriet Tubman...

In the film Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter(2012)biracial actress Jacqueline Fleming played black hero Harriet Tubman.  Fleming looks nothing like Tubman at ALL!! This was an insult to our great abolitionist hero!  This is an attack on the African looking woman and the destruction of her image.  Some may think this is a small issue. But I disagree totally.  The media is blatantly whitewashing the image of black women on purpose.

Lupita...1

And in may cases they will lighten the skin of an actress on a magazine cover. As in the case of Lupita Nyong’o on the cover of Dazed & Confused…among others.

Precious...

Proud Black Woman

African Woman

This whitewashing has to STOP!  This is a disgrace to all African women. And I want sistas to know that there are millions of brothers that love and support you.  I have talked to black men who have told me that they reject this whitewashing of Hollywood.  They love their sistas and reject this false image the media throws at us. So sistas stand tall and proud! You do not have to be mixed and biracial to be beautiful. You are beautiful just the way you are.  Much love to you…and stay strong. ❤
