Black Mentacide: Accepting Degenerate Ghetto culture

Hip Hop Culture1.

Last week a friend of mine asked  me what I thought about the ” Do it for The D” challenge.   I wasn’t sure what he was talking about.  He said it’s a rap challenge that had went viral all over social media. It is where you do a rap and talk what you what do to get penis from a man.  There are also an alternative version in which men rap about what they would do get vagina from a woman. I find this pretty sick and disgusting!  Look how far we’ve sunk as a people.  You have rappers and black actors doing this stupid ass challenge.  Hip hop used to be about educating our people with knowledge.  The golden era(1980-90) of hip hop had artists like Public Enemy,X Clan,KRS ONE,Brand Nubian,The Jungle Brothers,A Tribe Called Quest and Queen Latifah.  At least they were either Afrocentric,pro-black and had conscious lyrics.  But ever since the mid-nineties it has hit an all time low.  I remember a few years back Nas dropped a Cd called Hip Hop is Dead.  I think he may be right. Now the culture is just operating on the lowest frequency.  Now they have children talking about shooting each other, acting like gangsters and being promiscuous.  This is nothing but mentacide.  It is the destruction of the black mind.  And it’s being done intentionally.

Issa Rae...jpg

And the video(above) shows celebrities like Issa Rae,Regina Hall,Keke Palmer, rapper Tyga,T-Boz, Gabrielle Union and Sanaa Lathan doing the challenge.  It was really disappointing to see Union and Lathan stooping to this garbage.  I have always thought they were beautiful and talented actresses.  They should know better than to do such a degenrate sexual challenge like this.  But the worst had to be Erykah Badu.  She and comedian Michael Blackson did the challenge.  I understand that Blackson is a silly ass comedian that you can’t take seriously.  But Erykah??  I thought she was supposed to be this deeply spiritual, conscious, holistic Afrocentric woman.  This woman is 46 years old with three children.  Is this what she wants her children to see??  Do they want to see their mother doing a “dick challenge”?  This is a new low for Erykah.  She makes good music but she’s not truly conscious in my opinion.  And these other celebrities should know better as well.  They should lead by example.  But the truth is they believe that ghetto ass hoodrat culture is authentic black culture.  They think they’re “keeping it real”.  In a sense they are…keeping it REAL ignorant! These celebrities are paid puppets. They go along whatever their rich white masters tell them to do.  As long as they’re getting paid they don’t care if they’re putting out negative stereotypes or contributing to black mentacide.  Are we niggas and hoodrats?  Do we want our black boys to  view manhood as how many women you can sleep with?  Do we want black girls to see themselves as ghetto hoodrats?  I would think not.  And videos like this show that celebs have no social responsibility.  And we have to protect our children from this madness.  It’s up to us to show a positive examples to our young ones.  This so-called challenge is deplorable in my opinion.

I love this video(above) by Goalden Chyld.  This rapper flipped this disgusting challenge on it’s head.  He did a positive and uplifting video entitled ” For the People Challenge”.  Now others are doing positive videos as well.  I salute this brother!  I hope this type of thing catches on.  But deep down I know it wont be as popular as the “do it for The D” videos.  This proves to me that black people have a serious mental illness.  We have been taught accept disgusting and over the top sexual themes as “authentic blackness”.   This type of mentality needs to change.  We got to do better.

NWA Film promotes self hatred and gangster mentality! I miss the old Ice Cube!

NWA Film

There’s been a lot of talk about the new biopic about rap group NWA. The film is called Straight Outta Compton. It’s been getting a lot of buzz the last few months. Being from the west coast I grew up listening to NWA as a teenager. All my friends loved the way they spoke about the gangster lifestyle in Compton,California. As a kid I wasn’t that socially aware of what NWA was really putting into my mind.  It wasn’t so much the profanity. I heard people cursing at home with family and friends.  It was more what image NWA was showing to the world.  Their music promoted black self-hate,drug and alcohol abuse, disrespect of black women and sexual promiscuity. Yes they really were NIggaz With Attitudes. But they basically promoted a lot of negative racial stereotypes. I know there will be those who will say…what about their most famous song F*ck Tha Police? Yes that was a groundbreaking song back in 1988. It highlighted how the racist police brutalize and kill black people.  I give them some props for bringing that to light.  As we all know the cops are still killing black people and not much as changed in that regard.  But even with that in mind, they still promoted the image of the black thug to the world. They got rich in the process and became household names.  But I can’t let them totally off the hook.  As I got older I started listening to other rappers from the east coast.  I liked a lot of the more pro-black,Afrocentric rappers. Rappers like Public Enemy,Brand Nubian,X Clan,KRS ONE,Jungle Brothers,Poor Righteous Teachers,A Tribe Called Quest,Black Sheep,De La Soul and Queen Latifah. Some of you may not be that familiar with these groups. I suggest you look them up.  I became drawn to these more socially conscious rappers who spoke about black pride and loving your African heritage. And I loved when Public Enemy released Fight The Power.  It’s still a very powerful song to this day. So where is the Public Enemy film??  I don’t think the powers that be will ever make one. The racist whites/Jews that run Hollywood don’t want to promote a film about a group that is trying  to WAKE UP black people. A group that doesn’t glorify anti-blackness,gangster attitudes and calling ourselves niggas.  That is the real reason this NWA film is being made.  It’s to keep instilling self-hatred into black minds.  That’s what Hollywood does best.

The group consisted of Dr. Dre,Ice Cube,Eazy E,DJ Yella and MC Ren. I’m sure the men and their families are glad their story is being told.  But I suspect it will be seriously watered down so that middle America(white) can enjoy it. It will be very sanitized in my opinion. Ice Cube was one of the primary writers of the group. I always thought he was the most talented behind the mic. While Dre was the master producer.  I miss the old Ice Cube though. When he left the group and went solo he had come groundbreaking albums. Albums like Death Certificate,Amerikkka’s Most Wanted,The Predator and Lethal Injection. But over the last ten years he’s really gotten soft. He has started doing films like Barbershop,Are We There Yet,21 Jump Street and Ride Along.  A bunch of silly ass Hollywood films. He was so outspoken in the early 1990’s. His music used to get me hyped up.  He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind about racism, police brutality and dissing The President if he felt like it.  Now he’s a complete Hollywood sellout! I don’t think I’ll be supporting this film. I think I’ll keep my money.

I used to love this song called True to The Game.  It’s funny to listen to now because it sounds like he’s almost describing himself.  He’s become  just another Hollywood sellout coon!

I’m glad Khalid Muhammad put his ass on blast!!!

Culture Bandits- Del Jones

Culture
This is a great book by the late great author Del Jones. He goes into great detail about how black music has been stolen by others. The blood, sweat and tears put into the music industry benefits others more than it does us. This book will give you a whole different perspective on the entertainment business.
Del Jones a.k.a. Nana Kuntu would be comparable to the night watchman. Someone has to guard the community and keep the high watch. Nana Kuntu fought for our culture to make sure it was preserved. He ensured thieves (what our nana called culture bandits) don’t steal what rightfully belongs to Afrikans. He has to kept OUR information readily available for everyone that seeks the truth. His spirit was willing to organize and teach us wherever we were in terms of our Pan-Afrikan identity. One thing I can really appreciate is that he was not so into titles and accolades from people that he couldn’t speak the future of Afrika, OUR children. Any man that is willing to step up and carry the message to Our children deserves all the respect in the world. Be sure to check this book out. It’s definitely worth a read!

Public Enemy- Burn Hollywood Burn

Since the Academy Awards are coming up next month,I thought this song would be appropriate. This is a rap song by legendary rap group Public Enemy. Many hip hop fans consider it a classic. It also features rappers Big Daddy Kane and Ice Cube. In light of the racist and stereotypical roles that Hollyweird gives black people to play–Public Enemy perfectly sums up how I feel about the film industry. Enjoy!
