This gorgeous sun kissed beauty  is Claire Ateku.  Ateku is an aspiring model from Dallas,Texas. She attended Howard University and her family is from Kenya.  Here’s some more information about her.

On June 08, 1995 Claire Ateku was born in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya, to parents Ben and Purity Ateku. At the tender age of 1 year, she, her older brother Collins, and her parents came to the United States and found a home in Weymouth, Massachusetts. After six years, they moved to Texas, where she resided until she moved to Washington D.C in 2013 to pursue a degree in Broadcast Journalism at Howard University. She is currently a sophomore, and enjoys being heavily involved in campus activity.
Claire’s parents played a significatant role in her life. They instilled in her the importance of respecting others, working hard, and stressed the value of education to her. She draws personal strength from both parents and also from other family members.
In the summer of 2014, Claire visited Kenya, her country of origin. Amongst the many places she visited was the Kibagare Children’s Home & School, located in one of Nairobi’s poorest and fastest growing slums. Pupils in this school lack basic amenities that many in the Unites States take for granted. She hopes to go back to the school in future so as to make a difference in the community by inspiring young children to focus on their studies and aim for the skies so that they can get opportunity to exploit their talents to the fullest to the benefit of their families.

Here’s what she said in an interview:

“I started modeling when I was 14. It kind of started there when I had to deal with the criticisms of being a petite model and being a black model and then being a dark skin model. So I had to deal with those three things against me. I like the fact that in DC there are so many women of color trying to do the same thing and I’ve also met a lot of petite models that have kind of encouraged me to be like ‘look this means nothing.’ With the age of Instagram, social networking is on 100, so I am able to connect with other petite, dark skin, natural models and just like encourage each other.”
