Kanye West: From Consciousness to Coonery

Kanye5...

This post has been a long time coming.  I’ve mentioned in past comments many things I didn’t like about Kanye West. But I’ve never did an actually post about him. I never got around to it.  I could have easily had him in a Tales of Buffoonery post. Well a few followers have told me they’d like to see a post about him,so here goes.  Kanye West released his debut CD on February 10,2004. It was The College Dropout and critics were raving.  He was on Roc-A-Fella records so of course Jay Z made sure he got plenty of press.  many rap fans were excited to hear a new artist drop some socially conscious lyrics.  It was something you don’t hear very often on mainstream radio stations.  He wasn’t exactly Chuck D or KRS ONE but West did sprinkle his music with a few gems that made people think. In the song Murder to Excellence he touched on high murder rates in Chicago. He rapped:

“Is it genocide?
Cause I can still hear his mama cry
Know the family traumatized
Shots left holes in his face about piranha-sized
The old pastor closed the cold casket
And said the church ain’t got enough room for all the tombs
It’s a war going on outside we ain’t safe from
I feel the pain in my city wherever I go
314 soldiers died in Iraq, 509 died in Chicago

In the song Diamonds from Sierra Leone he talked about civil war conflict in African countries.  He said:

“See, a part of me saying: “Keep shining”
How? When I know what a blood diamond is
Though it’s thousands of miles away
Sierra Leone connects to what we go through today
Over here it’s a drug trade, we die from drugs
Over there they die from what we buy from drugs
The diamonds, the chains, the bracelets, the charmses
I thought my Jesus-piece was so harmless
Til I seen a picture of a shorty armless

And over the years he’s touched on subjects like public education,CIA,slavery, cocaine ,Black Panthers and urban violence. And most people remember back in 2005 there was Hurricane Katrina.  During a televised concert for Hurricane relief,Kanye said President Bush doesn’t care about black people. But Kanye is one of those artist that contradict themselves a lot. He us what I call “pseudo-consciousness”.  He makes those who are really Pan-African,Afrocentric and socailly conscious look bad.  He gives us all a bad name that speak out on these issues and want to see real change. He don’t think he’s really genuine when he says it.  He may say things that make you think but it’s designed to make you think he’s deep.  When he’s really far from it.  One of the biggest contradiction is his choice of women.  This man has horrible taste.  It has shown me his slow progression into becoming a self-hating coon. One of his first girlfriend was a black woman named Sumeke Rainey. She was with him years before he became famous.  But has he his career took off he dumped her. Then from (2004-2005) he dated Brooke Crittendon who was a reality show star. She was on the BET show Harlem Heights. That relationship fizzled after awhile.  But what do you expect?  Reality celebs don’t seem that stable to me.  But then again, neither does Kanye.

Kanye1...

In (2006-2008) he started dating interior designer Alexis Phifer. Many insiders say they were truly in love. They really understood each other. She was there to support him when his mother passed away. I guess he thought she was “the one” since he proposed to her. But in the end he called it off.  I noticed that after his mother died his personality changed. He seemed to be withdrawn and in a depressive state.  It all went downhill from there.

Kanye2...

Kanye had really lost his mind when he started dating Amber Rose. Rose is a stripper/model/actress and attention whore.  This racially ambiguous freak is the last thing Kanye needed to be with. But I guess he was in pain and need some comfort. And I’m sure this she-devil was more than willing to give him all he wanted.    They dated from 2008-2010 although it seemed like forever. They were always on social media and gossip columns. Also he helped Rose gain more fame and notoriety.  Which I’m sure was the whole point anway.

Kanye3..

But I knew Kanye had sold his soul to the devil when he married Kim Kardashian.  He had hit rock bottom when he hooked up with this creature. The tramp of all tramps. The modern day whore of Babylon.  Kim is the representation of all that is wrong with this immoral, materilistic and decadent culture.  American culture is filled with debauchery. And Kanye and Kim are the king and queen of degeneracy.  Kanye makes me upset because he fell into the stereotype of the successful black man who ditches black women and gets a white woman.  And yes she’s white. I don’t want to hear any crap about Kim being Armenian. Yes I know they are an ethnic group but I don’t consider her  a “woman of color”.  She’s just a whore that got famous doing a sex tape with a washed up R&B singer Ray J.

Kim K....

This is not a woman you marry.  Kim is not a woman you bring home to your mother.  Kim is the furthest thing from a virtuous woman.  She’s just an attention whore whos has slept with many black rappers, singers, actors and athletes.  And she’s wears fake braids in her hair and  has a fake booty.  Just a sad imitation of a black woman.  Kanye should’ve just got a real sista in the first place.  There are plenty of beautiful intelligent black women that would be more than happy to get with Kanye.  But he fell for the trap.I had high hopes for Kanye. Many others did as well.  He could’ve been a great voice for his generation.  But he sold out for fame, fortune and white validation.  He doesn’t speak for the oppressed at all.  He is just a sellout puppet. He is useless in the fight for black liberation.  Do not me fooled because he might sprinkle his lyrics with some consciousness now and then.

Kanye6...

This picture(above) says it all.  Kanye is finally truly happy.  He has his father/mother in law Caitlyn Jenner, his white wife and mulatto child.  And not a another black person in sight!  He has finally achieved the Amerikkkan dream. Kanye has showed us what happens when you lose self respect, dignity and racial pride.  The highest level of  coonery!

UFC fighter Ronda Rousey is 1/16 Black…Does it make her African?

Ronda2..

Well what do we have here.  It seems as though mixed martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey as some “black” in here bloodline.  I noticed in this picture she has braids in her hair. Maybe she’s trying to get in touch with her “African roots”.  Who knows right?  I had a co-worker tell me she was part black last year.  Of course I didn’t believe it all.  But after a little research I found a little information on it. But it wasn’t a big deal me.  There are many white celebs that have a black relative from waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.  But I guess the subject came up again when TMZ released a recent video with Rousey and her mother.

Of course this is not totally shocking but most white celebs don’t mention their black ancestry.  That information is usually dug up by someone else because there is no real advantage to admitting some black ancestry in a racist white society. This is the break down of her family background. She is the daughter of Ann Maria Rousey DeMars (born Waddell), a judoka and author, and Ronald John Rousey.

Ronda’s maternal grandfather was of Trinidadian and Grenadian descent (including African, Spanish, and English ancestry). Ronda’s other ancestry is English, 1/16th Polish, German, Scottish, and distant Dutch.

Ronda has said that her ancestry is “half venezuelan, a quarter English, a quarter polish, 100% American”. Her reference to “Venezuelan” ancestry likely refers to the fact that the island of Trinidad, where her grandfather’s family was from, is just 11km off the northeastern coast of Venezuela. Ronda’s first three fractions are not quite correct: she is of one quarter Caribbean ancestry, not half, she has English ancestry, to one degree or the other, from all four of her grandparents, and her Polish ancestry is one sixteenth, not one quarter.

Ronda’s paternal grandparents were John Edward Rousey (the son of Clarence James Rousey and Theresa Ellen De Moss) and Jean Orvetta Zifka (the daughter of Charles O. Zifka and Lenice O. Dilley). Charles was born in Wisconsin, to a Polish father, Lawrence Zifka, and an American mother, Elzina Smith.

Ronda3..

Ronda’s maternal grandfather is Joseph Arthur Waddell (the son of Alfred Ernest Waddell and Emelia/Amelia Maria/Mona Castillo). Joseph was born in New York. Alfred was born in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago, to Joseph Waddell, who was English, and Claudine Angus Abbott, who was from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Amelia was born in Trinidad, to Pedro Castillo and Maria Hernandez.

Ronda’s maternal grandmother is Marcella Ann Austin (the daughter of Anthony Austin and Reva/Rena Landon). Marcella was born in Illinois. Anthony was born in Indiana. Reva was born in Illinois, to Laurence Landon and Mayme Price.

Now you have silly ass negroes going around saying she should be considered a black woman.  This is insanity! I covered this issue once before last year.

https://kushiteprince.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/shailene-woodley-is-a-black-woman-and-other-myths/

But this is NOT a black woman.  She is not African. I don’t care what Rousey’s mother says. Just because a white person has a great-great grandparent that was black or mulatto does not make them black. This is once again that crazy “one drop rule” gone wild. Blogger Authenic African Vanguard once said:

“The Ignorance Of Blacks/Africans Accepting The False One Drop Rule Has Caused A Lot Of Confusion Among Africans. Which Is Why The IMA Constantly Promotes It To Keep Africans In The State Of Disarray. When The European/IMA Has Control Over Your Own Racial Identity,He Is Able To Manipulate Africans Into Accepting His Bastard Offspring And Even Put Them In Positions Of Power Over “Authentic” Africans. Recently A IMA Female Actor Meryl Streep Said In Front Of An All White Film Panel (“There is a core of humanity that travels right through every culture, and after all we’re all from Africa originally,” she added. “Berliners, we’re all Africans really.”) The Deceptiveness Of “We Are All Africans” Minimizes And Ignores Crimes & Injustices Committed Against Africans Worldwide, Based Solely On The Fact That They Are “Authentic” Africans. This Is Why There Is An Urgent Need For ACBN Thought Among Blacks/Africans Internationally. The World Is Ran By Individuals With A “Racial” Group Identity. Individuals Linked Together Simply By A Distinctive Phenotype.”

Those are very true words! Very well said statement by an intelligent man.. And we as black people must stop trying to claim every single person that has some black ancestry from way back in the day.  It makes us look pathetic trying to claim people who obviously don’t look like us or want to have anything to do with us.  We should be a prideful people and embrace our African culture and heritage. And we definitely don’t need to claim some overhyped, overglorified unattractive white martial artist fighter.  This white woman has NO African traits. Skin color, hair texture or phenotypes. So let’s keep it real.

Ronda1...

So I hope this helps you with any confusion you may have. She’s not one of us.  And I don’t give a damn if she puts her hair in braids, dreadlocks or bantu knots.

Nappy Hair is…Hair of The Gods!

Whippa

Epidemically around the world, hundreds of millions of Nappy People are afflicted with full-blown AANS, ”Acquired Anti-Nappy Syndrome.” While no nappy person is born with it, they acquire it from their parents and family. AANS victims assault their hair with scorching metal combs and grease, frying each nappy strand until it is straight, to imitate the straight limp hair and hairstyles of Caucasians. In the process, some burn their hair and scalps. Others assault their hair with “chemical relaxers” (sodium or calcium hydroxide) which are so dangerous and poisonous that it burns the scalp shortly after applied, causing blisters and even permanent scalp and hair damage if left on too long or used too often. Additionally, chemicals from these relaxers are absorbed into the bloodstream; they are carcinogenic and can even cause birth defects. And since nappy hair keeps growing out as nappy as ever, the assault must be periodically repeated to maintain artificial straightness. Thus the hair is repeatedly damaged, forced to be what it is not, forced with “lye,” to lie by lying straight. The scalps attached are likewise repeatedly damaged, by exposure to, and absorption of applied poisons.

But the worse damage appears to go unnoticed or even unacknowledged since this has become accepted “normal” behavior; this is the damage to the psyches which own the scalps. This psychological damage is “Acquired Anti-Nappy Syndrome,” a form of self-rejection and self-hatred. The outward manifestation of this inner dis-ease is the War on Nappy Hair. AANS perpetuates and holds this war in place. The War on Nappy Hair was taken to such extremes, that in some Caribbean islands during the 1980s, not only was it illegal for Blacks to have locked hair, but if they dared display it in public, they could be arrested or even shot and killed on sight by the police! who were Black themselves! And nappy foreigners sporting dredlocks, attempting to visit these areas, were detained at airports and not permitted to stay in the country unless they wore wigs or hats to hide their locks.

AANS is rampant among the Nappy
only in Euro-centered, Euro-imitative societies

This means practically the whole world. Thus around the world, Nappy People have been successfully conditioned by their European colonizers to reject or scorn everything that makes them unique as Afrikan people; their sable skin of varying beautiful hues, full sensuous lips, broad noses, Afrikan culture, Afrikan names, and their divine nappy hair -spiraling hair expressing the divine Spiral Principle of Creation. The dictionary (like everything in these societies) promotes AANS by demeaning key words which commonly relate to Afrikan people. Example: “kinky,” like the word “black,” is associated with undesirable characteristics. By the same token, key words commonly relating to white people are elevated, thus “straight,” like the word “white,” is associated with desirable characteristics. Reflecting this attitude, the literature in the boxes of “chemical hair relaxers” refer to straighter hair as “fine,” and nappiest hair as “coarse.”

Whippa3

While it is mainly women that show the visible evidence of AANS, nappy men are just as afflicted; their compliments and attention seem to favor women wearing straightened hair; or perhaps they have little choice since AANS-afflicted women are everywhere. They are the overwhelming majority. AANS is also evident with Nappy Men today, though not as rampant as it was from the early 1900s to the 1970s.

It’s hard work to keep all that nappy hair straight. It’s time consuming as well, wasting countless hours that can be productively used in nurturing self-knowledge and self-respect. For who will respect you if you don’t respect yourself? If 90% of whites were always perming up their straight hair to imitate kinky hair, this would clearly broadcast the statement that they don’t like themselves (self-hatred); and are rejecting part of themselves. Furthermore, keeping nappy hair straight is COSTLY. In America alone, Black people annually spend billions, that’s right billions of dollars on Black hair care at a time when Black colleges, businesses and organizations are facing financial ruin.1 This stands as a shameful witness to the success of the campaign to turn Afrikans against their own natural traits and thus against themselves.

Ether

Furthermore, AANS damaged hair is probably destroyed in its ability to transmit energy or be antennae. Instead of tuning into higher vibrations, such enslaved, maligned hair probably tunes into lower energies or likely, no energy at all, since it is cooked, hence dead.

India1

The good news is that there is increasing evidence
that many among the Nappy are healing from
AANS;

they are accepting and loving their natural spiral-hair, particularly as they awaken to knowledge of their true history, true culture, and true selves, and reject the false, anti-Afrikan history taught to them in anti-Afrikan school systems established by anti-Afrikan people. Fortunately, AANS and its outward symptoms are not permanent. As fresh new virgin hair grow out of those poisoned scalps, so can AANS exit forever.

Dredlocks were formerly abhorred by Nappy Americans.

The term itself is derived from “dread,” for locked hair was considered “dreadful” ! British soldiers coined the term “dreadlocks” during Jamaica’s colonial period, from the soldiers’ attempts to oppress the Afrikan Maroons who revolted against slavery. Now, not only is locked hair accepted, it’s even fashionable. In fact, people desiring instant long locks can now buy pre-made locks of any length or thickness, made from human hair. Thus a day is surely comin’ when Blacks stop regarding nappy hair as “bad hair,” and straighter hair as “good hair.” They will have completely thrown off the negative racist conditioning causing them to imitate their colonizers at the expense of their self respect. As a result, Acquired Anti-Nappy Syndrome will be healed. Manufacturers of hot combs and relaxers will go out of business. And Nappy People will end the War on their Nappy Hair. Once more they will esteem their precious Nappy Hair as the ancients did, as the spiraling “Hair of the Gods.

Culture Vultures(They want to be just like you)

#6414948 Reality TV star and budding business mogul Kim Kardashian showcased a questionable hair style change as she left the gym in Los Angeles, CA on December 30th, 2010. Cultural appropriation is when somebody adopts aspects of a culture that’s not their own.

But that’s only the most basic definition.

A deeper understanding of cultural appropriation also refers to a particular power dynamic in which members of a dominant culture take elements from a culture of people who have been systematically oppressed by that dominant group.

That’s why cultural appropriation is not the same as cultural exchange, when people share mutually with each other – because cultural exchange lacks that systemic power dynamic.

It’s also not the same as assimilation, when marginalized people adopt elements of the dominant culture in order to survive conditions that make life more of a struggle if they don’t.

For many people, barriers like classism, racism, and xenophobia mean they don’t have the right look, language, or position of privilege to earn income with their culturally specific tools – and yet oftentimes, white people can turn those same culturally specific tools into profit, thereby hurting the community they’re borrowing from.
